About lexi and me
Lexi is my 7-year-old granddaughter, and “me” is Kelli (she calls me KK). Because Lexi lived with my husband and me while her mother (my daughter) finished nursing school, just about everything I did for a full year was with Lexi. It was always Lexi and me doing this, Lexi and me going there. Lexi and me was just a natural name for me to give "our" new little business. I just left the words in lower case to help distinguish the business from the REAL Lexi and me!
I started beading as a result of participating in a farmers/flea market in the summer of 2008. I made bookmarks (the prototype of what I make today), earrings, and banana bread for the sale. It was a terrible sale, but the funny thing is, I sold several bookmarks! I thought I might be on to something, and with the encouragement of my mom, decided to pursue a new business idea.
The next step that I took is something I never would have done on my own, so I give God the credit for leading me to do it, and for giving me the courage! I phoned a couple of gift stores that I knew of in a nearby town. One owner allowed me to stop by with my samples. After making some suggestions and recommending I give my bookmarks a catchy name (I decided on Book Baubles), he placed an order! He also recommended several other stores for me to call on. Exactly two weeks after speaking with him, I had sold to five retailers!
After getting off to such a great start, I realized that I needed to expand my offerings, so I started making other jewelry pieces. I’ve had good luck retailing them myself, but have also wholesaled several pieces, and I’ve sold them at craft fairs, in fundraisers, and in a little rented booth not far from my home. Several people asked if I had a web site, so when the opportunity came along to get one started, I decided to go for it.
It took several months, but here I am now, with my own website and business! Thank you for shopping; I hope you'll come back often.

Retail purchases of $25 or more will include FREE SHIPPING in the U.S. Orders below $25 will cost just $2. If you are interested in purchasing wholesale or for fundraisers, please email me for details.
Your satisfaction is top priority. If you make a purchase and decide you don’t like it once it’s in your hands, you may return it within seven days. Just let me know it’s coming, and pay the postage to return the item in the same condition as when you received it. I’ll either refund your money or send you another selection; it’s up to you.
I pledge to repair or replace (at my discretion, during the first six months) any lexi and me creation that suffers breakage or loss of beads or other parts. Not all beads are replaceable, so I will do my best to match any remaining ones or replace the entire piece to your satisfaction. I cannot guarantee against loss of an entire item, unfortunately.
